While it might still be pretty cold once spring rolls around, that doesn't mean that you should still be huddling inside by the fire as if it were still winter. Instead, you should take the chance to celebrate spring in different ways out in the great outdoors. If you've never taken advantage of spring in this way before, you might be wondering where and how even to get started. Fortunately, even if spring and the outdoor environment don't always get along great in your area, there are still plenty of things you can do outside. Keep reading below to learn more.
What better way is there to enjoy the springtime than to go outside and have a picnic? There is no right or wrong way to have a picnic which means you can be as flexible as you want. If the ground is dry, why not have a traditional picnic and spread a large blanket out on the ground?
If the ground is wet from rain or melting snow, you could still go to a park and find some picnic tables to gather around. Even though it might still be cold, it can be fun to experience the brisk, fresh air while eating delicious food out in nature. Of course, make sure you have all the essentials with you before you go out for your picnic.
Make sure all the food is prepared ahead of time and don't forget about what you plan to drink. Bringing utensils such as forks, knives, spoons, and napkins are all very important as well. If you plan on having a picnic with friends, you could inspire them to bring some of their own food as well.
That way, your picnic can also be part potluck and you'll all have the chance to try something different.
Going on a treasure hunt is always fun, no matter the time of year. Spring, however, is especially ideal for a treasure hunt because the weather is finally starting to warm up and most of the snow should be melted or is starting to melt. But how should you go about starting a treasure hunt?
There are many apps that you can download that show where other people have hidden caches away to be found by others. This is a very easy way to go on a treasure hunt and it doesn't require a lot of effort on your part. If you don't like this idea, you could come up with your own treasure hunt ideas with your friends or family. Easter is the perfect occasion!
Hiking may not be the most relaxing of activities, but it can certainly be a fun and adventurous way to pass the time. Hiking allows you to see the nature around you like never before. You might see animals and birds you've never seen before too.
You'll also have a great chance to take beautiful pictures of the landscape around you. Since the temperatures will still be low in spring, you won't have to worry about overheating on your hikes either. When you're finally tired of hiking, you can come back home and relax in your indoor hammock.
A good hammock will allow you to kick up your feet and rock in the air without a care in the world.
Many people find the idea of camping to be somewhat daunting, but backyard camping is a much safer and simpler version. In your yard, you won't have to worry about any animals sneaking up on you in the night. Besides, your home will be right outside your tent so you'll have nothing to worry about.
Backyard camping also gives you the perfect opportunity to invest in a hammock stand. By getting a hammock, you will be able to experience a level of comfort that no chair or bed will give you. Because it is up off the ground, you'll be able to swing freely and let your entire weight sink into the hammock.
A hammock also gives you the opportunity to look up at the stars for as long as you want without having to worry about insects from the ground crawling on you.
If you really want to celebrate spring, attending some of the many spring festivals with your family or friends is always a good idea. Festivals offer things you might not be able to provide in your own home such as fun festival food and unique entertainment. Here are some of the most common spring festivals.
The Elmira Maple Syrup Festival on April 10. It has been held every year since 1965 and it only lasts one day.
The Canadian Tulip Festival lasts from May 13 to May 23. It is one of the largest tulip celebrations worldwide. During this festival, you can witness thousands upon thousands of tulips blossoming.
The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival lasts throughout April. This festival is full of guided walks, picnics, art shows, and, of course, cherry blossoms.
With all these festivals and more to choose from, you shouldn't have any problem finding ways to celebrate spring and spend more time outdoors. Going to festivals is also a great way to try new things and have fun if you've been bored on your own property.
The outdoor environment can be especially breathtaking in spring, so why not try to find more ways to celebrate and enjoy spring? Whether you want to try camping with your hammock and tent in your backyard or go to your local spring festival, there is always something fun to do during spring.
